Bruk først fargen Mysterious (nr 6508) helt opp til brynene, sterkest på øyelokket og gradvis svakere jo høyere opp du kommer.
På omtrent 2/3 av øyelokket, fra vippekanten til globallinjen legger du fargen Socialite (nr 6504).
Bruk e.l.f. Mineral Eyeliner eller e.l.f. Cream Eyeliner i fargen sort helt inntil vippekanten, både oppe og nede. Nede kan du godt la streken ikke gå helt inn til øyekroken, men ca 2/3. Bruk deretter e.l.f. Small Smudge Brush for å gni eyelineren litt ut og inn i øyevippene. På denne måten blir ikke streken så hard.

Lørdag kveld var det feiring av Mikkel Gaups bursdag på Strawinsky Sky Bar...en god mix av masse herlige mennesker! Gaup er visst synonymt med god stemning, det bekreftet i allefall kveldens event. Per (Heimly) var så absolutt også i slaget. Selv om han startet filmingen av Mira Craigs nye musikkvideo kl. 06.00 om morgenen, og måtte ha vært på jobb i mer enn et halvt døgn før han dukket opp! Hipp hipp hurra for Mikkel!!
Mens mennene nærmest sloss om å få klemme på Mikkel, fikk damene seg hør og bør noen goodie-bags fra E.l.f!

Packing my makeup bag for a holiday, an overnight trip, or even just for lugging to the gym, can be a recipe for a beauty meltdown. Invariably, my instincts for editing things down to the essentials go by the wayside and, rather than stick to my daily beauty products, I'll sit and mull over every single product in my arsenal, weighing its pros and cons. Hanne Haugsand (30) deltar i semifinalen i Bodø med låta "Heaven's in your eyes".

Intervju med Hanne:

Hanne Haugsand vant den norske Grand Prix-finalen i 2000 som en del av gruppa Charmed og låta "My Heart Goes Boom" kom på 11. plass i den internasjonale finalen Stockholm.
Holdt familieshow
Hanne er vokalist, musikalartist, komponist og arrangør. Hun er født i Asker, men er vokst opp i Oslo. Familien er svært musikalsk, blant annet er faren cembalist.
- Som liten holdt jeg hyppige familieshow, og de to barnepikene, som selv var dansere, fikk kjørt seg som publikum og instruktører, minnes hun.

Allerede da hun var tre begynte Hanne å danse. Hun lærte også å spille piano - først klassisk, mens det nå går mest i jazz og pop på tangentene.
Hun begynte i kor da hun var åtte, og begynte å ta klassiske sangtimer da hun var femten. I tillegg har hun utdannelse i klassisk sang gjennom et år på Toneheim Folkehøgskole i 1993. På samme skole tok hun i 1996 et påbygnigsår der hun blant annet studerte musikk og musikalsk arbeid tilrettelagt for psykisk utviklingshemmede.
- Musikknerd
- På mange måter er jeg vel en musikknerd, innrømmer Hanne, og forteller at hvis hun hører et eller annet på TV som hun synes er interessant, har hun ingenting imot å ringe for eksempel NRK for å få vite hvem som har skrevet verket.
Av kjente størrelser hun har stått på scenen sammen med, kan blant annet nevnes A-ha, Ole Evenrude, Lynni Trekrem, Tor Endresen og Dag Kolsrud.
For tiden studerer Hanne sosialantropologi ved siden av alt annet. Det blir mye utsettelser, men hun er ferdig med første året. Ved siden av artistlivet lager hun dessuten grafikk, klær og smykker.
Om sitt forhold til semifinalebyen Bodø sier Hanne:
- Jeg har aldri vært der før, men har noen venner derfra, dessuten jobber jeg med en fra Bodø ombord på båten Prinsesse Ragnhild.

I am always on the lookout for designer denim (second hand also) at great prices. I am a regular at retail sales, sample sales, and trunk shows, but am looking for a shop or a website that can give me the same deals (usually hovering around 50% off) on REAL jeans from 575, Paper Denim & Cloth, Joe's, True Religion, Rock & Republic, Armani, etc. Any recommendations? :-)

There are really several places to find your favorite jeans. My advice: Visit the citiy's best flee-markets (Vinderen, Uranienborg, Majorstuen, Midtstuen, Bygdøy etc.), Fretex Grønland, Fretex Alnabru, West Vintage, Min Butikk and other second-hand stores...or - use a website: http://www.mote.no/

Men da Jane og Jake er utenbys i forbindelse med sønnens avgangsseremoni fra College begynner det å bli mer komplisert...

I've ordered tickets to Prague. In a couple of weeks, I will leave the capital of Norway behind, and seek the wonderful treasures of central Europe's finest metropole. Prague is one of New Europe’s most popular cities. I've chosen a destination filled with fantastic history, music, culture, shopping and dining. Of course I will seek out the best in fashion and makeup as well. And, who can go to Prague without visiting the renowed State Opera? I've decided on an evening with La Traviata, and I'm just as excited as one could possibly be. Eventhough it won't be springtime in Prague, I think winter in Prague is just fine. Perfect, actually!

The Last Day of the Christmas Break

Today I decided to visit one of the most beautiful places in Oslo, a restaurant and recreation site named "Frognerseteren". On a winter's day, a visit to Frognerseteren is fascinating and almost magical. At the cafe, you can enjoy elegant culinary cuisines, or simply some hot or cold beverage. As for us, the kids had hot chocolate and sweet pastry, I decided to go for hot chocolate and whipped cream! Yummy!

The newspapers compete in telling us what went wrong this past decade, and have already named it "the decade from hell". 2009 - Band of the Year: Charlotte & the Co-Stars

Charlotte & The Co-Stars is an Oslo, Norway-based rock band which has gained a formidable reputation as a live and recording act, having released a critically acclaimed album and played at most of Norway's main venues. As per September, 2009 the band are working on their follow-up album scheduled for release in 2010.

After the split-up of Oslo based band Oyster, singer-songwriter Charlotte Jacobsen decided to go further, and with newly-written songs and new band members, she founded Charlotte & The Co-Stars in 2003.

The band went through a series of personnel changes during their early years, before the line-up had stabilized by 2005.

Fairytale of the week: Cinderella...

Once there was a widower who married a proud and haughty woman as his second wife. She had two daughters who were equally vain. By his first wife, he had had a beautiful young daughter who was a girl of unparalleled goodness and sweet temper. The Stepmother and her daughters forced the first daughter to complete all the housework. When the girl had done her work, she sat in the cinders, which caused her to be called "Cinderella". The poor girl bore it patiently, but she dared not tell her father, who would have scolded her; his wife controlled him entirely.

One day the Prince invited all the young ladies in the land to a ball so he could choose a wife. As the two Stepsisters were invited, they gleefully planned their wardrobes. Although Cinderella assisted them and dreamed of going to the dance, they taunted her by saying a maid could never attend a ball.

As the sisters swept away to the ball, Cinderella cried in despair. Her Fairy Godmother magically appeared and vowed to assist Cinderella in attending the ball. She turned a pumpkin into a coach, mice into horses, a rat into a coachman, and lizards into footmen. She then turned Cinderella's rags into a beautiful gown, complete with a delicate pair of glass slippers. The Godmother told her to enjoy the ball, but return before midnight for the spells would be broken.

At the ball, the entire court was entranced by Cinderella, especially the Prince, who never left her side. Unrecognized by her sisters, Cinderella remembered to leave before midnight. Back home, Cinderella graciously thanked her Godmother. She then greeted the Stepsisters who enthusiastically talked of nothing but the beautiful girl at the ball.

When another ball was held the next evening, Cinderella again attended with her Godmother's help. The Prince became even more entranced. However, this evening she lost track of time and left only at the final stroke of midnight, losing one of her glass slippers on the steps of the palace in her haste. The Prince chased her, but outside the palace, the guards had seen only a simple country wench leave. The Prince pocketed the slipper and vowed to find and marry the girl to whom it belonged. Meanwhile, Cinderella kept the other slipper, which had not disappeared when the spell had broken.

The Prince tried the slipper on all the women in the kingdom. When the Prince arrived at Cinderella's villa, the Stepsisters tried in vain. When Cinderella asked if she might try, the Stepsisters taunted her. Naturally, the slipper fit perfectly, and Cinderella produced the other slipper for good measure. The Stepsisters begged for forgiveness, and Cinderella forgave them for their cruelties.

Cinderella returned to the palace where she married the Prince, and the Stepsisters also married two lords.

Moral: Beauty is a treasure, but graciousness is priceless. Without it nothing is possible; with it, one can do anything.

Endelig er dagen her, den dagen i året man kan sove til tidlig ettermiddag uten et snev av dårlig samvittighet, våkne til vinduer fulle av isroser og melishvite tretopper over stille gater. Med noen timers dagslys foran seg kan man velge ett av mange alternativer - uformelt julebesøk, skitur i nordmarka, spasertur i nabolag og omegn, eller doven dag i sofaen med rikelige bøker fra gavefangsten julaften..Kanskje kan man også rekke å kombinere disse alternativene. For min del ble det full pott; doven dag i sofaen, uformelt julebesøk med rundstykker, røkelaks og verdens beste hjemmelagede syltetøy, leselyst i sofaen, og spasertur med barna på nybrøytede veier, i en krystallklar vinterluft. Nesten ingen biler ute, da brøytekantene heller ikke inviterte til ferdsel i motoriserte kjøretøy..

“A Christmas Carol”

"A Christmas Carol" ("En julefortelling") av Charles Dickens er en av mine favorittbøker. Denne julen gleder jeg meg over nok en ny filmatisering av den populære klassikeren. Jeg har allerede tatt 60 ungdomsskoleelever med på en kinoforestilling, vi har også lest og diskutert romanen. Dickens, med sitt sosiale engasjement, fenger og rører oss den dag i dag.

Det er spesielt gledelig å se filmene under julehøytidene, selv om handlingen avviker noe fra den opprinnelige fortellingen. Hvilke moralske betraktninger er det i fortellingen som appelerer til oss den dag i dag? Kristne lesere har meninger om dette, bl.a. uttrykt i artikkelen “Good Will Toward Men”:

Victorian-era England was still very much aware of how Christianity was at the bottom of its culture and traditions. In fact, Dickens himself writes in such a way that most modern Americans, ignorant as they are of the Scriptures, would be hard pressed to miss the overt references to the Bible that can be found throughout the entire book.

Most film adaptations of A Christmas Carol are faithful to the overall story; yet leave out many of these biblical references and allusions. . . .

The general theme of A Christmas Carol is one of redemption, a life redeemed from an inward focus to an outward focus. The priorities of Scrooge’s life change in one night from one of greed and accumulation of material wealth, to one of benevolence and generosity. Clearly, Scrooge doesn’t “become a Christian” in the usual sense of the phrase, but he becomes one in his realignment of ultimate priorities. St. Augustine taught about the proper alignment of priorities based on the biblical teaching to love God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind and your neighbor as yourself. According to Augustine, the biblical hierarchy is God, neighbor, self and any deviation from this alignment of priorities is sin. When three supernatural visitors upend Scrooge’s priorities, the result is something akin to the biblical model; and this is where the power of the story lies. The most amazing thing about Scrooge’s “conversion,” is the wretched nature of his former self. Dickens pulls no punches in his description of Scrooge’s selfishness to the extent that, “Even the blind men’s dogs appeared to know him; and when they saw him coming on, would tug their owners into doorways and up courts; and then would wag their tails as though they said, ‘No eye at all is better than an evil eye, dark master!’” It is this grim picture of a dark and cold human heart that makes the radical change so much sweeter. And such is the true nature of the Gospel, turning darkness into light and blindness into sight.

Det var kvelden før juledag, og i vårt hus
var det intet som rørte seg, ikke en mus,
men ved vår kamin der hang strømpene tomme
i håp om at Sankt Nikolas ville komme.

Og barna lå hver og en trygt i sin seng

For mamma og meg var det også på tide -

Evening thoughts

I'm a woman, mom, wife and teacher. My life is busy and stressful at times, boring quite often and there are plenty of little things that I worry about around midnight lying in bed. Too often I find myself focusing on all the things that I worry about. I'm sometimes gloomy when it's raining and I'm not excited about early mornings. I wish I would exercise more, earn more, stress less, listen more, talk less. Yes, there are plenty of things that I would like to change!
But I am also full of hope and dreams. I believe in happy endings and love everlasting. I'm surrounded by people who care about me and who accept me just as I am. I trust that there is someone holding my life in His hands and I do enjoy all the blessings that I have. Writing this blog I'm reminding myself that life is really wonderful and that little things can turn an ordinary day into an extraordinary adventure.
